The vote today to not raise the debt ceiling as predicted is being portrayed by the hackneyed media as “Vote to kill medicare”, imagine that.  I heard no less than 20 times on one MSNBC show the words “kill medicare” in relation to a vote to “Save America” by controlling our debt.

Folks, this is how the hackneyed leftist media is going to play this story to give top cover to democratic cowards in Congress that could not pass a budget, won’t get serious about spending and debt, and have no desire to fix the entitlement mess this country faces.  The real issue that all of us need to focus on is that the democrats want a vote to raise the debt limit to a little over $16 trillion in cover the debt racked up in just the past two years and they don't care about the economy.  This is obscene and the hackneyed left media won’t talk about it.

My theory is this:  They don’t want a vote on budget because they know there is a second crash in the economy coming and if they wait this out they can then use that new national economic crisis as leverage to do three things.  First get a vote on debt they want under the guise of “we have no choice as America is too big to fail”, and second they want to trap the Republicans as the cause of the looming second financial crisis, third, continue the process of wealth redistribution as a form of economic policy. The third is the most worrisome if we see the economy crumble again as most people will not have the will to stop a complete government takeover of the economy….Let’s not forget this line: "I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."

Yes, this is a pretty hard hitting theory and if true says that liberals are ok with an economic collapse as long as they come out on top politically.  Medicare is their way of not taking a stand on a budget or a vote yet having an issue to bash republicans with by saying “kill medicare” as often as they can while waiting this out.  In short, the economy and our long term growth, prospa and survival are second to political gain with the left.

On this Memorial Day I want to share a short story about it's meaning to me and one person that is resting in the hallowed ground of Arlington.  When I'm running on a regular basis I have a thing I do called a "Hero Run" once a month, where I run one extra mile after I hit the wall.  



It's not a big deal, just my way of thinking about one person that has made my freedom possible and allows me the gift of freedom to go out an enjoy a run.  This month I ran for Col. Mike Butler and I want to share a little about why below.

As I look back at my 22 year military career I can come up with one person that had the biggest impact on me and it was Col. Mike.  We served togther in the late 90's when he was my directorate commander on the Inspector Generals staff.  Col. Mike was one of the most level haeded, calm, and intelligent leaders I ever met; but his impact on my career was personified in his Honor and Integrity.  He was the reason I got promoted to E8 and became First Sargeant, however it was "how" I got promoted that stands out.

In 1998 I missed promotion by .2 points.  After a week or so I got over it and started to prepare for next year when Col. Mike found out that a medal I had been awarded was not in my records because it got left on his desk.  The medal was worth 1 point and more than enough to push me over the top.  Now, the easy thing to do would be say sorry about that but you're a shoe in next year because in order to "try" and fix this he was going to have to put himself out there and sit on a sword....He Did! 

He went to the Two Star General and explained how this was on him, he went to the promotion authority in Texas and did the same thing.  Long story short he fought tooth and nail to get it counted, fixed, and me promoted for an error I did not really know about.  This is just one of countless examples of how he "Always" did the right thing.  It's who he was, an honor, integrity, and core values first leader that loved the military and his country!  He was a great mentor to the SNCO Corps and really acted as a mentor to me and many of my friends on the IG staff at the time with his cool under pressure, always do the right thing style, and most all Service

12 June, 2007:  Col. Mike Butler was riding in a five car convoy in Tikrit, Iraq when the car he was in took a direct hit from an RPG.  He is laid to rest among Heroes at Arlington and is one of the 6052 killed in Iraq and Afghanistan since 9/11/01.  On the Memorial remember a Hero in your life, a friend, or one you have heard about and thank them for in your own way for the freedoms we all have.

Rachel Maddow thinks Mullah Omar is an honorable man and victim

In what must be one of the most ridiculous liberal thesis on origins of the war and more so how it’s end is near Rachel Maddow from the the Obama network, MSNBC  implies this was all “Honor driven”.  She said on her 27 May, 2011 show that Pashtunwali the honor code of the Afghan Pashtun tribe “forced” Mullah Omar to protect Bin Laden.  That he was just doing the “hospitable thing” as required by his code.  She then goes on to say that now that Bin Laden is dead the war will soon be over because the “honor code” no longer bounds Omar and he can negotiate with us.

Now here is where this entire thesis is flawed in so many ways and in my best estimation she heard the word Pashtunwali in a coffee house the day before and ran with it like some new enlightened lefty elitist. First, she says that he took Bin laden in when he was on the run and because of that was “honor bound”.  Wrong, he did not take Bin Laden in on the run Rachel, they these guys were partners in “CRIME” and worked together to build a terror network and training camps in a Taliban run country.  This had no more to do with honor then LCN and saying that once Gotti was captured organized crime members could now go straight and start to negotiate with the feds….Are you really that naive?

 Second, she says that after Bin Laden’s death Omar and the Taliban reached out to negotiate and therefore the end of the war was near because the honor code was not an issue.  Wrong again Rachel!  A. you have no proof when the negotiations started and B. By most reports they started long before Bin Laden’s death.  Fact is you just took liberty with the facts to paint a very false picture of the realities of the situation. 

Last, downplaying the death of 3000 plus on 9-11 as the inevitable result of poor Mullah Omar just doing the right thing based on a 250 year old tribal honor code is a slap in the face to all those families.  Omar is a criminal accomplice to the largest attack on America since WWII.  He is not some honor bound victim forced to show “hospitality” to a terrorist as you imply, he is international scum, and a mass murdering terrorist.  This is the heart of the issue, the overwhelming desire of the left to find a victim around every corner including poor Mullah Omar.    More at:  www.victorluebker.com

I'd like to ask all of us to remember the reason for this Holiday weekend.  The opening of the pool, BBQ, and even the sales are all wonderful but Memorial Day is about the ultimate sacrifice so many others have made for our freedom.  I encourge you to thank a veteran and a Gold Star wife or Mom this weekend as you enjoy the blessings that come  from being an American.  Freedom is not free, it comes at a heavy price and we must never forget it's one generation away from being lost.

Why Voter ID Makes Sense and Liberasl say "Oh Nooo!!"

I was part of a discussion on Face book yesterday about voter ID and of course how it disenfranchises people and is a violation of civil rights.  This is an argument I’ve never been able to get my head around as I’ll explain below, but first I want to cover the basic premise the opponents use in making their case.

The number one thing you’ll here is that this will suppress voter turnout.  Now, there are no facts to show that having a simple state issued ID will stop anyone from going to the polls but in order to make the argument stick the left must claim it will stop people from voting. They say people don’t have the money to get an ID or drive to apply for one?  Could the same family, friends, and neighbors that drive a person to the polls take you to get a free ID?

 Further the opponents of voter ID throw out this argument:  There is no proof that voter ID’s stop or prevent voter fraud. This is the Swiss cheese of their argument has it has the biggest holes and here’s why.  You can’t commit voter fraud when you have to show an ID that matches your voter registration and the photo matches you!  You also can’t track fraud when you just let anyone sign on a line saying they are “Joe Smith”….It’s like trying to pin a ghost to a wall.

Now here is where I’m just baffled.  You can’t exercise your 2nd amendment rights without ID, you can’t cash a check without ID, you can’t get on an airplane or drive on a military base without ID.  You can’t get a drink at a bar without ID and I even have to show valid photo ID at Target when I buy a bottle of wine!  You can’t tell a cop they are violating your civil rights right’s if you get pulled over for running a stop sign and you don’t have a driver’s license.  You can’t pick up a prescription at the pharmacy without ID.  But….you can vote without it?

Fact is there is wide spread fruad and they know it, they want it, and they know it benefits liberal candidates!  “The voter registration officials simply take the word of the registrant with no follow-up,” said conservative political strategist Michael Baker.

If this was a money issue I’d side with the left and ACLU on this, but fact is states are offering the ID’s for FREE.  This is a red herring by the left to cover for voter fraud and imagration staus no matter how you try and spin it nothing can change that.  So, all the emotional based arguments the left is known for comes out because the facts don’t support them.  Every citizen that went through the naturalization process to earn the right to vote is punished when those that have not slip through the cracks.  Voting is a very special right, get a free ID and vote!

Left wing hit machine strikes again!

Friends if there is one thing to expect over the next 17 months leading up to the 2012 elections it’s a full scale military style assault on all GOP candidates by the organized left.  I’m going to say right now that the coverage will be the most biased and derogatory in the history of any Presidential run and it will be led by the left leaning media.  The goal is simple; paint all candidates as awful greedy people and horrible racist “righties” that want to steal your money and freedom.  The latest leftie hack is Andy Kroll at Mother Jones.

These lefties jumped out and attacked Herman Cain as a…..Are you ready for this….”Enron Guy”.  His story has to be one of the weakest, most pathetic written in the latest of lefty attacks on the candidates that announce.  It’s a very biased article that weaves in opinion and kind of, sorda, maybe speculation into to a farfetched tale that leads the reader to think Herman Cain ran the company. Really he was just one of many board members but he wants you to think that he ran the show and was the architect of its demise and the loss of pensions some employees suffered.  These type stories are not an accident or the result of some serious journalism they are “plant” stories to let the entire left media chum the waters with baseless opinion so they can all refer back to each other as “sources”. 

I for one have already been sickened by the David Gregory racist hit job, the fake flabbergast that Bob Schieffer showed on about Newt’s spending habits at Tiffany’s and of course the anti-woman bias that Chris Matthews spews out of his face almost daily at GOP women.  Folks, the fact are you can expect a steady drum beat of non-sense; non-issue hit pieces for the next 17 months from the left.  It’s a sad but accurate commentary as to their motives, lack of integrity when it comes to just covering the issues facing us as a country and worst, the real state of journalism and why everyday more people turn to writers like me to get their news, opinion, and thought.  The adage “believe none of what you hear” has never been more true when it comes to commentators from the left.

Cain Can!            

I'm not even close to being ready to make a formal endorsement or start talking at length about a single GOP candidate for the 2012 Presidential race but I am ready to talk up Herman Cain in advance as I feel he has to be part of the national ticket, here’s why….He is Reaganesque!

Cain represents all that is right with America in all categories:  Business, life, values, affirmative action, leadership, and love of country.  Some point out his weakness and what appears to be his only one as no political experience.  Friends, that’s not a weakness and even more reason to like this guy!  Politicians suck in general and have proven they can’t be trusted at large, exceptions do exist but on balance this is not a place we find the most noble and virtuous among us anymore.   I feel this is one of his stronger qualities given he could take the easy road and run for an office he would surely win like Congress and become one of the pack of jackals that currently serve.

Cain is different and his success as a leader in business is desperately needed given our #1 issue is an economy in stall and an administration that is hell bent on destroying capitalism for some new social hybrid of economics and social change rolled up together that is based on thin sliced groups of victims.

Further, there is a full scale attempt and plan by the racist white left to paint any attack on Obama and liberal politics as racism.  Cain nips that in the bud as an example of a color blind America that welcomes with open arms all races, colors, and creeds as conservative, freedom loving, self determining people!  His ability to put these very aggressive, and openly racist lefties in their place is invaluable. 

Cain is a must watch in the 2012 race and is sure to drive the MSNBC kooks nuts because they run the risk of exposing their asses if they attack him too hard.  Further, he has the resume to do the job!  Take all the political pluses he brings to any ticket out of the equation and just look at him on balance as a leader and American success story with deep insight and intellectual ability he is head and shoulders above Obama when it comes to depth of experience and accomplishments in life.

Cain is a must on the 2012 ticket, where he ends up the primaries will decide; however only a fool would not pick him as the VP if they win the nomination.

Well my friends I have been on a rant tear of late so now time for just some simple rambling given tomorrow is the end of time.  I figured since this may be the last post I make it should be an “A-Political” one so I won’t blame all this on Obama.  Here is where I stand on Doomsday:

First, this is the fourth time in the last 11 years I have mentally prepared for my demise and the coming end of time, and to be honest it’s getting old.  I feel we need one, and only one doomsday predictor and we need to select one date.  Here are the events I prepared for, and to be honest went out of my way to be nice to others for the 24 hours leading up to it just to error on the side of caution.

Y2K: We all remember this dandy of a day and waited on pins and needles for the clock to strike 12:01 a.m. and the impending doom as computers shut down or fought back.  I wasted my new years eve and all the sin and revelry I could have enjoyed by eye balling my evil computer all night to no avail. 

24 April, 2001:  The Lord’s Witness declared they figured out the “True Bible Code” and that the UN would take over the world and no one would be able to buy anything.  Well I spent $27,342 in the weeks leading up to that stocking up on MRE’s and seed bank seeds just sure they had it right.  Anyone need a pot roast MRE?

2004:  This whole year was doomsday year according to Watcher Ministries and they based this on an analysis of the great pyramid of Giza saying the Tribulation started in 1997 and that seven years later we were doomed.  As you can now imagine I had a very bad year waiting each day for the end.  The good news is that I was the kindest I have ever been for 365 straight days.

21 May, 2011:  That leads us to tomorrow and what is certain to be the real end of days.  What bothers me most here is twofold.  First……I have plans and now have to figure out if I need to drink early because no time was given.  Also do I play golf or go do a preemptive good deed hoping to lessen the possible fate that awaits me.  Second, I already factored in 21 December and the Mayan doomsday for this year and had all my ducks in a row for the 20th.  I even went so far as to schedule my Christmas for the 25th of Nov to ensure I got two great holidays in before the destruction of mankind happens.  Plus, I’ve been to Mexico and the Mayan ruins and I trust these dudes and the stone calendars they used to predict the end of time.

If tomorrow passes and we all make it I’m thinking we need the President to appoint a doomsday czar that gathers all the data and tells when the date is and of course regulates and taxes all the retail money that comes from the doomsday industry…….Geez, just pick one day and let us get on with our lives.

Obama Gives Poland Back To Russians  

 

Well today was a first in history, a sitting U.S. president calling for pre 1967 boarders for Israel.  The same boarders that Israel got attacked from multiple times and would now shrink Israel to only 8 miles wide!  Now I know a little about the military and I can tell you that defending an 8 mile stretch of land from rockets in this modern era is about as impossible as it gets.  I’m assuming that the president CAN’T read a map and decided not to read any history as well, when he made this call.

But just for kicks let’s roll up our sleeves and war game this a little.  You’re Israel and I’ll be radical Islam that hates your guts and wants you dead….fair?  My opening attack will come from the protection of the new urban center of Jerusalem that I now own and occupy.  I’ll launch a series of rockets from homes and schools and protect religious centers knowing that Israel can’t hit all the civilians.  I’ll do this knowing that I’ve done it before and it worked, plus I don’t give a shit about Jewish or Christian religious centers anyway.

 Second I’ll launch a full scale attack that cuts Israel in two and force you to fight me on three fronts.  The middle of your country I’ll cut off, the north from Syria and the south from the Gaza strip our allies will attack.  I’ll be deep in your territory and force you to decide where and how to concentrate your forces.

 Last, I’ll have my friends in Iran send me long range rockets that we can now use to hit every major city and lob them at your civilian centers like we have in the past…Your people we beg for a cease fire and worst case we will kill 100,000’s of Jews.  Now your turn…what do you do in this scenario?  This is the new reality if we went back to 1967 when Israel was attacked from all sides! 

But here is where this really gets good.  Since the President has decided that re-drawing maps is a legitimate form of foreign policy why not give Poland back to Russia to reflect the post 1992 boarders?  Or better yet what if Russia decides it wants to re-write some boarders of their own?

The President just said we won’t stop Iran from getting a bomb because we see Israel in its pre-attacked 1967 state.  He put Israel and millions of civilians at risk now because the Arab world will see this as validation to squeeze Israel from all fronts.  Radicals will use this as a battle cry and a call for a new Intifada.  Israel just got sold out and will pay a very heavy price in terms of lives, money and it’s weakening standing in the Middle East for what the President said today…..Words have meaning and here they mean:  Israel you don’t matter anymore.
